Brooklyn a German Shepard dog was one of my first pet portraits. She was a special dog in our family as she was my daughter’s family’s dog.

Brooklyn loved people. She made sure you knew how happy she was to see you. For a German Shepard she was very high strung. Brooklyn was always ready to play, run, jump and give over enthusiastic affection. She was very high energy, and never seemed to tire. Many wonderful memories were made with Brooklyn as my granddaughters grew up.

I drew this colored pencil pet portrait as a tribute to her for the joy she brought to the family, and as a special everlasting memory of her life for my daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughters when she crossed the rainbow bridge.

The finished portrait hangs in their home with her collar draped over it serving as a reminder of their loving and trusted friend.
