Summertime brings many bright colors to my flower gardens.  I have a variety of flowering plant’s such as red and pink roses, peonies in white, burgundy, and pink, daisy’s, purple and pink bee balm, and orange and yellow lilies.  I plant plenty of mixed colors of zinnia’s and marigold’s for added color.

I enjoy a morning walk around my yard with my camera and take pictures of the flowers for future reference for colored pencil paintings.  It is a peaceful enjoyable time to capture the beauty that nature has to offer.  Some mornings there is a heavy dew that leaves dewy droplets on the petals and leaves adding interest to a beautiful picture.  

This orange zinnia caught my eye one day.  It’s beautiful orange color got my attention.  I took a close up picture of it and the formation of the petals in the center of the flower were so pretty I decided this needed to be a colored pencil painting.  It turned out to be a beautiful floral colored pencil painting.
